Re helmet painting

Because of the time involved in spraying helmets, we have to restrict the number to 2 helmets per month. Consequently, we have to take bookings on a first come-first served basis...no jumping the queue !

Painting Tips
SPRAYING CLEARCOAT:

It is critical to choose the correct hardener and 2K thinners combination
for your shop temperature before you mix your clearcoat.
This should be printed on the label of the clearcoat or hardener tins.
Do not try anything different!

Mix the clearcoat, hardener and 2K thinners in the ratios 100 parts, 50 parts
and 30 parts respectively by volume.
Strain the paint into the gun cup, adjust your air pressure to about 4 bar
(I use less) and apply one thin coat, overlapping horizontally
by 50% to 75%.
I work from the bottom of the job to the top.
Allow the paint to tack dry!! When the paint does not "string" when you
touch it, then it is ready for the next coat.
Continue until the clear flows out smooth. If you chose the wrong
hardener, thinner combination in the beginning, you might find that
it does NOT flow out properly!
Do not overload the job at this point because too many coats could result
in runs or "fat edges"!!
You must know when to STOP.
Happy clearcoating!!
